Taytay, officially the Municipality of Taytay (Tagalog: Bayan ng Taytay), is a municipality in the province of Palawan, Philippines, with a population of 83,357 people as of the 2020 census. As the former capital of Palawan during the Spanish colonial period, Taytay is rich in history and heritage, with the 17th-century Fuerza de Santa Isabel, a Spanish fortress, standing as one of its most iconic landmarks. Located along the northern coast of mainland Palawan, Taytay serves as a gateway to El Nido and nearby island destinations.

The municipality boasts stunning marine and island attractions, including the pristine waters of Taytay Bay and the diverse marine ecosystems of Lake Manguao, the largest freshwater lake in Palawan. Fishing and agriculture are the primary sources of livelihood, with tourism becoming an increasingly important industry. With its historical significance, natural beauty, and growing tourism potential, Taytay remains one of Palawan’s most culturally and ecologically important municipalities.
