The Provincial Task Force Ending Local Communist Armed Conflict (PTF ELCAC), in a statement posted Thursday on social media, identified the surrenderee as 25-year-old Taytay residents Jenel Abila, alias Carl, Benhart, Jepoy, and Obet.
The caravan offered free medical and dental services, registration of birth, marriage certificate issuance, resident certificate (cedula) issuance, application and registration of senior citizen, membership of solo parent, and PhilHealth enrollment, alongside an information drive against the armed insurgency.
The individuals concerned, according to the ELCAC statement, were merely “deceived by insurgents” into joining groups earlier tagged by the military as front organizations of the outlawed CPP-NPA.
