The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has finished constructing a bridge and its approaches that connect the barangays of Sicsican, Irawan, and Iwahig along the Puerto Princesa South Road.
The bridge has a total length of 0.799 kilometers across the combined clusters and includes bridge construction, drainage and slope protection structures, as well as various auxiliary structures to ensure the strength and durability of the infrastructure.
These details were recently reported by Palawan 3rd District Engineering Office (DEO) Engineer Amelia Fajardo to DPWH MIMAROPA Regional Director Gerald Pacanan.
Fajardo stated that the project provides smoother bridge approaches, benefiting motorists, commuters, and residents by reducing travel time, minimizing vehicle wear, and enhancing road stability through improved load distribution, drainage, and slope protection.
