The Palawan Provincial Health Office is conducting a training for municipal health and nutrition workers to strengthen nutrition programs, particularly during the first 1,000 days of a child’s life.
The Barangay First 1,000 Days (BF1KD) Training of Trainers is being held from October 20 to 23 at Citystate Asturias Hotel, with Municipal Nutrition Action Officers, nurses, midwives and other municipal representatives participating.
The activity aims to strengthen the implementation of nutrition programs in communities, particularly by providing proper guidance to pregnant women and mothers, promoting appropriate feeding practices, and establishing support groups for families.
It added that the training seeks to strengthen participants’ ability to guide mothers and pregnant women and support families in adopting healthier practices.
Vitamin Angels and the Provincial Nutrition Office are leading the activity. Resource speakers include OIC–Provincial Nutrition Action Officer Darelle Jaide Sanchez, RND, and Anne France Imperial, RND, with support from Bahay Arugaan ni Maria and representatives from Narra, Aborlan and El Nido.
The organizers are sharing practical guidance on implementing the BF1KD program to help provide more effective and sustainable nutrition services in local communities.
