There is no low pressure area inside the Philippine area of responsibility, but cloud clusters are being monitored near Luzon, the state weather bureau reported Friday.
“Sa kasalukuyan, wala tayong minomonitor na low pressure area sa anumang bahagi ng ating bansa. Ngunit meron tayong minomonitor na mga cloud cluster dito sa kanluran ng northern Luzon, maging dito din sa silangan ng Luzon,” weather specialist Grace Castañeda said.
She added that the cloud clusters over the western part of northern Luzon may develop a defined circulation and become a low pressure area as early as Friday.
If this happens, it could bring rains to some areas of northern Luzon, but its projected path would move westward away from land.
“Posible po yung 50 to 100 mm of rainfall o yung mga malalakas na pagulan dito sa bahagi ng Zambales, Pangasinan, La Union, Benguet, maging dito din sa Ilocos Sur at Abra. At posible pong magpatuloy hanggang bukas yung mga pagulan na ito, lalong-lalo na dito sa area ng Pangasinan at Zambales,” Castañeda also said to remind the public about the rains from the southwest monsoon.
Metro Manila, Central Luzon, and Southern Luzon are already experiencing rains, while Visayas, Mindanao, and Palawan will have scattered rains due to the monsoon and localized thunderstorms.
