A woman lost her life in a vehicular accident on May 19 along Sitio Magarwak in Brgy. Bacungan, Puerto Princesa City.
Her boyfriend, a 21-year-old driver, was injured.
Initial findings by Puerto Princesa City Police Office (PPCPO) Station 2 said the car was speeding and overtaking on a curved portion of the road when it lost control, likely due to the wet and slippery surface caused by rain.
The vehicle swerved into the opposite lane and collided with an oncoming AUV.
Rescue teams from the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO), the City Health Office’s Health Emergency Response Operation (HERO), and the Bureau of Fire Protection Special Rescue Force immediately responded to the scene.
One of the passengers had to be carefully extricated from the wreckage, prompting a delicate rescue operation.
Several individuals were brought to the hospital for treatment. Authorities are continuing their investigation to determine the exact cause of the accident.
