The team of the Yamang Bukid Farm receives the prestigious 2019 Mayor's Award for the Tourism Service and Development category.

The Yamang Bukid Farm in Barangay Bacungan has been given the Mayor’s Award 2019 for its contribution to Tourism Service and Development in Puerto Princesa City.

The award was given during the “2019 Mayor’s Award and Five Outstanding Women Award Night” held at the Citystate Asturias Hotel on March 5.

Daniel Anjan, general manager of The Yamang Bukid Farm, told Palawan News that the award will inspire them more to work harder, reach their dreams and create positive impacts in the lives of the people.

“Una po sa lahat nagpapasalamat po ako sa ating Panginoon na binigyan Niya kami ng award na ganito. Kailangan lang talaga ng sipag, tiyaga, at dedikasyon sa pagta-trabaho para talagang maging maayos ‘yong mga darating pang biyaya. Talagang nagpapasalamat din tayo sa city government na nabigyan po tayo ng ganitong award… nakikita po natin doon ‘yong talagang pag-recognize nila sa nakikita nila doon sa farm,” Anjan said.

The Yamang Bukid Farm was one of the three awardees in the group category for Tourism Service and Development.

Anjan said the award was made possible through the contributions of all their farmers and workers who worked hard to come up with a “farm tourism” concept in their area.

He said their management has helped those who were once illegal loggers by employing them as farmers.

“Ngayon po ay masaya silang nagta-trabaho. Kung mapapasyal nga po kayo ay makikita ninyo kung talagang papaano silang tumanggap ng mga bisita, talagang welcome po ang lahat na pumunta doon,” he also said.

This created a positive impact not only in the lives of their employees but of the whole Puerto Princesa City in terms of protecting the environment, he also said.

Carlo Abogado, the assistant city administrator, said that while there were committees tasked to choose the awardees, it was  Mayor Lucilo Bayron who had the last decision.

“Mayor’s prerogative din ‘yon kasi Mayor’s Awards,” Abogado said.
