Western Philippines University has launched Papa’naang Balai, a dedicated napping area inside its University Library, as part of efforts to promote student wellness and support holistic learning on campus.
The university officially opened the space on campus this week, providing students with an area to rest and recharge amid academic demands. School officials said the initiative aims to improve focus, mental well-being, and overall learning outcomes.
WPU said Papa’naang Balai reflects its continuing commitment to student-centered innovations that go beyond academic instruction by addressing students’ physical and mental needs.
By integrating care, culture, and creativity into campus facilities, the university said it seeks to strengthen a learning environment where students can pause, reflect, and return to their studies refreshed.
University officials added that the initiative aligns with broader goals of fostering inclusive and supportive educational spaces in Palawan that contribute to quality education and student development.
