Palawan will have cloudy skies with scattered rain and thunderstorms as the weak southwest monsoon, or habagat, affects western Southern Luzon.
PAGASA weather forecaster Aldczar Aurelio said the monsoon may continue to affect western sections of Southern Luzon and the Visayas until Wednesday.
“Makakaranas po tayo ngayong araw ng maulap na kalangitan at may tsansa na mga kalat-kalat na pag-ulan at may kasamang thunderstorm,” Aurelio said in a weather update.
Residents were advised to prepare for sudden downpours caused by thunderstorms. These may bring strong winds, lightning and reduced visibility in affected areas.
Meanwhile, most parts of Luzon will have fair weather apart from isolated rain showers and thunderstorms. The Visayas and Mindanao will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies, with possible sudden rain.
PAGASA is not monitoring any new tropical cyclone or low-pressure area inside or outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility.
“Sa kasalukuyan, wala po tayong binabantayan o namomonitor na panibagong bagyo o low pressure area sa loob at sa labas ng ating Philippine Area of Responsibility,” Aurelio said.
A tropical cyclone outside the country is also unlikely to enter PAR as it moves toward Japan.
No gale warning has been issued over Philippine waters.
“Walang gale warning ngayong araw, ibig sabihin wala tayong inaasang matataas na alon sa ating mga karagatan,” Aurelio said.
Fishers and operators of small vessels should still watch for sudden changes in sea conditions during thunderstorms, even without a gale warning.
