Two wanted persons were arrested recently by police operatives in Aborlan and Balabac towns for alleged involvement in separate cases of rape and illegal logging.

A spot report obtained by Palawan News on Tuesday said police operatives of the Aborlan Municipal Police Station (MPS) and 2nd Special Operations Unit of the PNP Maritime Group in Quezon town arrested Aljun Porka Oriel, 24, and Karim Saynol Sahi, 30.

Oriel, a resident of Sitio Bura, Barangay Barake, Aborlan was arrested on Monday morning for alleged violation of the Anti-Rape Law with no recommended bail.

The warrant for his arrest was issued on April 3, 2019, by Judge Arlene Guillen, assisting judge of Branch 50 of the Regional Trial Court (RTC).

Sahi, a resident of Sitio Bagsalan, Barangay Malaking Ilog in Balabac, was arrested on Saturday, April 20, for allegedly violating Section 77 of the Revised Forestry Code of the Philippines.

His arrest warrant includes a bail of P80,000.00 for temporary liberty.

The arrest was made by virtue of a warrant dated November 19, 2015, issued by Judge Ambrosio de Luna of Branch 51 of the RTC.
