Councilor Roy Ventura has filed a resolution seeking the declaration of August as “Science, Technology, and Innovation” month in support of local inventors and innovators.
Ventura said Thursday his proposed measure will be an avenue to promote local inventions and products.
He added that the city government will help the marketing of local products also the robots and applications developed.
He added that this was inspired by the Palawan ICT Association (PICTA), Department of Science and Technology (DOST), and the students of the city.
A budget of P500,000 was proposed for its implementation.
Ventura said he expects that his proposal will be approved before August this year so they can invite guests early.
The proposal has been referred to the Committee on Legal Matters that will hold a meeting next week.
