A vehicle accidentally fell into the water at the City Baywalk yesterday, January 31, according to the Anti-Crime Task Force (ACTF).
A report received at 1:49 p.m. by ACTF personnel indicated that a call was made to 911 regarding a delivery vehicle that had fallen into the water.
Responding units arrived promptly at the scene, but the vehicle had already been taken from the bay.
Employees in the Baywalk area stated that the driver was trying to gather saltwater when the vehicle’s handbrake allegedly malfunctioned. This resulted in the automobile rolling rearward uncontrollable before descending into the water.
Authorities are conducting an investigation into the event, and no injuries have been recorded. The vehicle’s owner has not been publicly disclosed, and it is uncertain whether any damages were sustained.
