A U.S. Navy serviceman allegedly abandoned a rented vehicle after it overturned in an accident along the National Highway in Sitio Bayugon, Barangay Tinitian, Roxas, Palawan, at 3:30 a.m. on November 23.
The foreign national was identified as 30-year-old Andre Philippe Pageau, a U.S. Navy member from Las Vegas, Nevada, U.S.A., who is currently in Palawan for ongoing PH-U.S. drills.
The soldier, traveling from El Nido to Puerto Princesa City, met the accident along the way.
According to the report from Roxas Municipal Police Station (MPS), Pageau lost control of the steering wheel, collided with a railing, and overshot to the side of the road.
He sustained minor injuries and managed to hail a passing vehicle to continue his trip to the city.
Meanwhile, as of now, there has been no coordination between the soldier and the Roxas police.
Wala pa kaming alam sa biktima, hindi pa namin nakakausap, pero ang brigade humingi na ng report sa amin,” a personnel from the Roxas MPS said.
