Puerto Princesa City Mayor Lucilo R. Bayron has asked the British Embassy in the Philippines for information on postgraduate scholarship opportunities in the United Kingdom that may be available to qualified city residents.
Bayron made the request during British Ambassador to the Philippines Sarah Hulton’s courtesy visit to City Hall on July 29.
“Your Excellency, could you please send us a letter providing more information about the possibility of sending postgraduate scholars to the United Kingdom for scholarship? We would appreciate receiving more information on the program,” Bayron was quoted in telling Ambassador Hulton.
Hulton discussed postgraduate scholarships and higher education opportunities in the U.K. for Puerto Princesans seeking advanced studies.
She also expressed hope that educational and capacity-building partnerships could be expanded for aspiring professionals and future leaders in the city.

Bayron and Hulton also discussed the city’s development priorities, including sustainable tourism, environmental protection, good governance, and possible cooperation between the U.K. and Puerto Princesa.
“You’ve given us the warmest of welcome. That was really special. Thank you so much for taking time for this wonderful hospitality,” Hulton told Bayron.
