As of 2 a.m., Tropical Storm “Marce,” also referred to internationally as “Yinxing,” is located within the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR), as reported by the state weather bureau, and it could grow stronger to typhoon status.
PAGASA weather specialist Aldczar Aurelio reported that the storm is currently located 935 kilometers east of Eastern Visayas, with maximum winds of 65 km/h near the center, gusts up to 80 km/h, and is moving west-northwest at 25 km/h.
“Wala pang direktang epekto ang bagyo sa bansa. Pero yong station ng bagyo, o tinatawag nating trough ng bagyo, ay umaabot sa silangang bahagi ng Luzon at ganoon din sa silangang bahagi ng Visayas,” he said.
Aurelio noted that today, cloudy skies with slight rain and thunderstorms are expected.
As Marce progresses northwestward within the PAR, it could intensify the surge of northeasterly wind flow, potentially occurring within the week.
This, along with the trough of the tropical cyclone, is expected to bring rains over Extreme Northern Luzon and the eastern section of Luzon starting tomorrow (November 5).
“Inaasahang lalakas ang bagyo habang binabaybay ang East Philippine Sea at maaaring umabot sa typhoon category bago tumama sa kalupaan,” he added.
Currently, the storm’s track is projected to hit the center of the Babuyan Islands. However, according to him, it is still possible that the track may deviate northward or southward within the cone of probability.
Therefore, the center could potentially pass through Extreme Northern Luzon, Cagayan, or Isabela.
No tropical wind signals have been hoisted, but severe winds can be felt in some parts of the country.
