The Puerto Princesa Underground River (PPUR) has entered the “Hall of Fame” list of the global travel and restaurant online company TripAdvisor after earning its certificate of excellence for the fifth straight year.

Park superintendent Elizabeth Maclang said Thursday their latest achievement only proves that they are consistent in ensuring that guests from all over the world are provided quality travel and tour services to earn their good reviews.

“Noong 2015 napadalahan tayo na ‘yon na nga daw merong certificate of excellence. Tapos ‘yon tuluy-tuloy na, walang patid. Siyempre kung maganda ‘yong reviews, alam naman natin na tour experience ‘yan ng mga bisita, maganda ang reviews,” said Maclang.

Maclang said their office was notified of the recognition on May 23.

TripAdvisor is an online community where millions of people from different parts of the world can review listed destinations, accommodations, restaurants, and activities that have served them during their travels.

Maclang pointed out that the achievement was earned by the underground river with the help of everybody in the park management and its stakeholders, the city and provincial governments, and the private sector.

“Hindi magiging maganda ‘yong reviews ng TripAdvisor management kung hindi rin maganda ‘yong feedback for the past five years ng mga turista natin na pumapasok sa underground. Malaki ‘yong impact niyan sa turismo natin sa lungsod,” said Maclang.

She noted the challenge for them now is to maintain the recognition through continuous improvement in the booking system and proper management of policies and guidelines inside the park.
