Travelers who wish to visit Palawan from Central Visayas can now fly directly via Cebu to the touristy town of El Nido every day without needing to pass through Manila.
This after Cebu Pacific inaugurated on October 26 its direct flights from the two locations via Cebgo.
The airline company said the new route will make trips to the northern part of the province faster, cheaper, and convenient.
Cebu Pacific said this development adds another option to existing AirSWIFT flights and helps open up more access to El Nido’s beaches, lagoons, and island getaways.
“By opening more direct routes, especially between secondary cities, we reduce dependence on major urban gateways and help spread tourism benefits more evenly across regions,” said CEB Marketing Director Michelle De Guzman during the route launch in Mactan-Cebu International Airport.
“That translates to more opportunities for local businesses, hotels, tour guides, restaurants, transport operators, especially in communities that rely on tourism as a livelihood,” she added.
The company said that from Cebu, passengers can also fly directly to other Palawan destinations like Puerto Princesa, Coron, and Port Barton in the emerging tourism destination of San Vicente.
Currently, CEB operates flights to a total of 37 local and 26 overseas locations, which are dispersed among the regions of Asia, Australia, and the Middle East.
