The rank 1 most wanted person at the city level was arrested in an operation by Police Station 2 of the Puerto Princesa City Police Office at around 2:30 p.m. on January 26 in Barangay Sicsican.

Police identified the suspect as a 41-year-old construction worker and a resident of Zone IV, Purok Abanico, Barangay San Pedro.

He had been wanted by authorities following the issuance of a warrant of arrest on August 9, 2022, by the Regional Trial Court Branch 47.

The warrant was for two counts of attempted murder, each carrying a recommended bail of ₱120,000.

Police said the suspect had evaded arrest for more than two years before he was captured during the operation.

Police Major Ray Aron D. Elona, station commander of Police Station 2, said the arrest showed the continued pursuit of the police against most wanted individuals in the city.

“This success is clear proof that no one is above the law. Police Station 2, together with our partner units, will continue to work to ensure the safety of every citizen and a safer Puerto Princesa City,” Elona said.

The suspect is currently under the custody of Police Station 2 for documentation and proper disposition in accordance with existing laws.
