Typhoon Tino has left the Philippine area of responsibility early Thursday morning but will still bring rain over Palawan and parts of the country, the state weather bureau said.
PAGASA weather specialist Chenel Dominguez said the typhoon left the PAR at 12:30 a.m. and is now moving toward Vietnam.
“Tuluyan na itong lumabas ng ating Philippine area of responsibility kaninang madaling araw, 12:30 a.m. po, at patuloy na itong kumikilos palayo ng ating bansa,” Dominguez said.
Although Tino is outside the PAR, its wide circulation continues to affect the western part of the country.
She said scattered rain may also affect Aurora and Quezon due to cloud clusters extending from the typhoon.
“Dulot nitong trough o extension nitong bagyong si Tino, posible pa rin ang mga kalat-kalat na pag-ulan dito sa may Palawan, pati na rin dito sa may Occidental Mindoro,” she said.
Dominguez said fair weather will prevail in most parts of the country but isolated thunderstorms are expected in the afternoon and evening.
Tino remains under the typhoon category but is gradually weakening as it moves farther away.
Signal No. 1 is still up over Kalayaan Islands but may be lifted within the day. PAGASA warned small fishing boats along the western seaboard of the country to avoid sailing due to strong gusts from the typhoon.
