Two men were arrested by members of the police’s Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) team on All Souls’ Day in at Sitio Magarwak, Barangay Bacungan for alarm and scandal for allegedly firing an unlicensed homemade shotgun and a pistol.
Police Regional Office (PRO) MIMAROPA spokesperson P/Lt. Col. Socrates Faltado said suspects Mark Montenegro Aguilar, Jr., 39, his live-in partner (name withheld), and Bonifacio Robles Aguilar, 36, were arrested for illegal possession of firearms under Republic Act 10591 and causing alarm and scandal.
Faltado said their complainants were Raquel Eleazar, Jonathan Mojo, and Teresita Villanueva, all residents of Bacungan.
Eleazar made the initial complaint against the three late Thursday night, October 31, when Aguilar fired his 12-gauge homemade shotgun. Also confiscated from his possession was a caliber 22 pistol loaded with one round of live ammunition.
Three pieces of bolo were also seized from Aguilar.
