Palaweños with a passion for retro-futuristic adventure films are in for an exhilarating treat as Netflix prepares to launch The Electric State, directed by the Russo Brothers, premiering globally on March 14.
The movie, which stars Millie Bobby Brown (Stranger Things, Enola Holmes) as Michelle, an orphaned teen searching for her lost younger brother, promises a distinctive fusion of action, passion, and breathtaking scenery.
She joins forces with smuggler Keats (Chris Pratt; Guardians of the Galaxy, Jurassic World) and his witty robot sidekick Herman (Anthony Mackie).
The Electric State takes place in a dystopian future where sentient robots, that were formerly part of a harmonious society, are now forced into exile following a failed rebellion.
In a daring quest across the American southwest, Michelle is accompanied by an enigmatic robot called Cosmo as she seeks to find the truth about her brother’s disappearance.
Aside from Woody Norman, Jason Alexander, Giancarlo Esposito, Ke Huy Quan, and Stanley Tucci, the voice actors for the robots include Brian Cox, Alan Tudyk, Jenny Slate, and Woody Harrelson.
Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely, who were responsible for Avengers: Endgame, are adapting Simon Stålenhag’s graphic novel The Electric State for the big screen.
March 14 is the date you want to remember—Only on Netflix will The Electric State illuminate screens all around the globe.
