The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) in Palawan will conduct a seminar on women’s rights on March 15 at the Puerto Princesa School of Arts and Trades (PPSAT).

Lorizza Mae Gacot, a guidance counselor and Gender and Development (GAD) focal person, said the seminar is part of TESDA’s advocacy to enlighten, educate and empower women in the society.

“May mga invited guests kami from external agencies meron tayong isang psychology practitioner, lawyer, and manager, owner ng isang establishment here in Puerto Princesa City (PPC) sila po ‘yong magiging speaker natin tomorrow,” she said.

The seminar is open to the public for those willing to learn about the laws on women’s rights, business, and financial management.

“Basically the program is for the faculty and staff and students of PPSAT pero kung meron pang ibang gustong matuto about laws, rights of women, about business and financial management welcome po silang pumunta,” she added.

She said the event’s theme is focused on “enlightening, educating and empowering women.”

“Pinaka-gusto lang namin ay, of course, from the theme itself na ginawa namin locally ito ay ang coordination sa theme ng Philippine Commission on Women na ‘We make change Work for Women’. With that we have created three thrusts — first is to enlighten about relationship; pangalawa is educating about laws and rights of women and last is empowering through financial management,” she added.
