Board Member Ryan Maminta has urged various telecommunications companies (telcos) operating in Palawan to upgrade their services in the towns of Rizal and Quezon whose remote barangays are not covered by cellular signals.

Maminta said many barangays in these two towns do not have cellular signals, including Brgys. Panitian, Malatgao, Sowangan, Tagusao, Calumpang, and Quinlogan in Quezon.

He added there are at least 11 barangays in Rizal that have similar situations.

“The mentioned barangays are currently suffering from telecommunications services with quality ranging from slow to none. [They] also deprived of the opportunity to access information,” he said.
