A minor was killed and another individual sustained injuries in a high-speed motorcycle collision along the National Highway in Barangay Alfonso XIII, Quezon, Palawan, at approximately 6:30 p.m. on November 8.
The Quezon Municipal Police Station (MPS) said a concerned citizen reported the accident in person shortly after it occurred.
Preliminary investigation claimed that the minor, driving a red Honda TMX 125, had earlier visited a friend in Purok Museum, Barangay Alfonso XIII, to borrow a motorcycle part. During the visit, the minor was invited to participate in a motorcycle race, which they proceeded to do along the National Highway.
At the time of the accident, both motorcycles were reportedly traveling at high speeds when the minor lost control and crossed into the opposite lane, colliding head-on with a black Honda 155 driven by an individual identified only as “Carlo.”
Police said that Carlo, a resident of Barangay Alfonso XIII, was not carrying a driver’s license or the registration documents for his motorcycle.
Both drivers sustained severe injuries and were immediately taken to Quezon Medicare Hospital. The minor was declared dead on arrival by the attending physician, while Carlo remains under observation.
