An 85-year old pedestrian died after being hit by a tricycle along Sorillio St. Purok 3, Barangay Poblacion, Taytay town on Monday.
A spot report sent by P/Capt. Ric Ramos, spokesperson of Palawan Provincial Police Office identified the victim as Natividad Marco Amurao while the suspect, the driver of the tricycle named “Precious” was identified as Ramil Gabuco Elocat, 34 years old, both residents of the said barangay.
Police investigation showed that the victim was walking along the national highway from Julio Arzaga Elementary School going to Palawan State University campus when he was sideswiped by the tricycle.
The driver immediately brought the victim to the town’s Rural Health Unit for medical attention and later transferred to the Northern Palawan Provincial Hospital (NPPH). The victim reportedly died during treatment.
The tricycle driver will be facing a case of reckless imprudence resulting to homicide.
