The Municipal Anti-Drug Abuse Council (MADAC) of Taytay has received ₱50,000 in financial assistance from the provincial government to support its anti-drug programs.
MADAC focal person Bamby Oquendo personally accepted the check during a turnover ceremony held on January 17 at the Governor’s Conference Room, Provincial Capitol.
The financial grant was handed over by Provincial Anti-Drug Abuse Program Manager Gerardo Ramon Sabenacio and Peace and Order Program Director Atty. Lara Mae Cacal, who represented Governor Dennis Socrates. The governor also serves as chairman of the Provincial Anti-Drug Abuse Council (PADAC).
The provision of funds complies with Joint Memorandum Circular 2018-01 issued by the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) and the Dangerous Drugs Board (DDB).
The directive requires PADACs to extend financial or technical support to municipal and barangay anti-drug abuse councils to strengthen their initiatives against illegal drugs.
