The municipal government of Taytay is strengthening its health emergency preparedness system after conducting a Disaster Risk Reduction and Management for Health (DRRM-H) tabletop exercise May 14, 2026, aimed at testing coordination and response during disasters.
The exercise, held at the Municipal Health Office, simulated a disaster scenario to evaluate how the local health system would function during an actual emergency, particularly in terms of decision-making, communication, and inter-office coordination.
“Bahagi ng tabletop exercise ang simulated disaster scenario kung saan gagamitin ang DRRM-H plan ng munisipyo upang makita kung maayos at maaasahan ba ito kapag may dumating na sakuna,” organizers said, stressing that the activity served as a practical test of the municipality’s preparedness framework.
Officials said the activity also examined the clarity of roles among responding offices and the efficiency of communication channels during emergencies. “Tinalakay din ang mga tungkulin ng bawat tanggapan, proseso, at komunikasyon sakaling kakailanganing gamitin ang plano,” they added.
The exercise brought together personnel from the Municipal Health Office, Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office, and Municipal Planning and Development Office, with the Provincial Department of Health Office (PDOHO) serving as evaluator.
Health officials underscored that the DRRM-H plan is intended to ensure continuity of healthcare services before, during, and after disasters, especially in vulnerable communities.
