The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) is set to present “Tatak Pinoy: OBRA MIMAROPA” to showcase the region’s rich culture and innovation.
DTI MIMAROPA said the event is scheduled for October 24-27 at the Glorietta Activity Center to celebrate the best of the region’s creative industries and local businesses.
Over 50 micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) from the provinces of Occidental Mindoro, Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, and Palawan will come together to offer a variety of products, including handicrafts, food, fashion, lifestyle goods, eco-friendly items, and health and wellness products.
“Tatak Pinoy: OBRA MIMAROPA” isn’t just a trade show—it’s a platform for creativity. Attendees can look forward to engaging talks led by industry experts from film, music, art, and fashion, DTI said in a press statement.
It said the event also promises vibrant cultural performances representing the diverse heritage of the region’s five provinces.
A highlight of the opening ceremonies will be the recognition of top performers from the Cities and Municipalities Competitive Index, alongside an awarding of regional winners from the Pamilihang Bayan ng Bidang Mamimili, a program that honors local government units for maintaining public markets that promote consumer protection and empowerment.
Entrepreneurs and industry stakeholders will also have the opportunity to attend seminars on essential topics such as Halal certification, responsible seafood sourcing, and market opportunities for coconut industry players. Additionally, a food safety seminar will provide valuable insights to enhance business practices.
“We are driven by the passion and commitment of our entrepreneurs and artists. Tatak Pinoy: OBRA MIMAROPA aims to connect and unite them, fostering a sustainable creative industry,” said DTI MIMAROPA Regional Director Rodolfo Mariposque.
This event marks the return of the popular MIMAROPA Naturally Agri Trade and Tourism Fair, which ran annually from 2015 to 2019.
The official logo for Tatak Pinoy: OBRA MIMAROPA celebrates MIMAROPA’s multicultural roots, reflecting traditional patterns found in local handicrafts and clothing, the butterfly industry, and the Mangyan communities’ artistic contributions.
Key government officials, both local and national, are expected to attend the opening program.
This initiative is a collaboration between various government agencies within MIMAROPA, including the Philippine Exporters Confederation, Inc., the Department of Tourism, the Department of Agriculture, and the provincial governments of Romblon, Occidental Mindoro, Marinduque, and Palawan.
The event is also supported by national programs such as the Tatak Pinoy Program, One Town, One Product Philippines, Coconut Farmers Industry Development Plan, Shared Service Facilities Program, and the Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program.
