Around 150 pupils of Tagabinet Elementary School, from Kindergarten to Grade 6, received support from the Rotary Club of Puerto Princesa (RCPP) in the new Rotary Year 2025-2026 under the leadership of Maria Cecilia Fresnillo as president.
For Children’s Day, the Rotary Club of Puerto Princesa distributed school supplies, gave haircuts for students and parents, held storytelling sessions, and delivered lectures on bullying and responsible parenting.
They also taught proper handwashing and toothbrushing for Kindergarten and Grade 1 students, and provided hygiene kits.
The Club also led the planting of around 100 fruit trees like rambutan, guyabano, lansones, and durian together with pupils, teachers, soldiers from MBLT 9, Reservist of the Philippine Air Force, barangay officials of Tagabinet, and other participants.

This year’s Rotary theme is “Unite for Good.”
This activity marked the first day of Fresnillo’s term. She said their aim is to help and support the children of Tagabinet Elementary School.
She said the school was chosen by RCPP because they saw that the school needs care and help, especially with the presence of IP children and issues such as lack of electricity and other needs.
The Children’s Day event of the Rotary Club of Puerto Princesa had the support of the Barangay Council of Tagabinet led by Punong Barangay Divine Cayaon, Marine Battalion Landing Team 9 led by Commanding Officer Lt. Col. Rommel Geli PN(M), the 4th Air Force Wing Reserve Civil Military Operations Reserve, Tagabinet Elementary School Principal Dennis P. Aborot and teachers, Puerto Princesa Subterranean River National Park Superintendent Beth Maclang and park rangers, CSWD, City Agriculture Office, City Veterinary Office, and City DILG.
