Provincial Farmers Association Council (PFAC) president Estrelita Quiampo-Galera said Tuesday that most of the local farmers chose to sell their palay to NFA with P19 buying price compared to private traders with around P12 to P12.50.
Osmundo Guinto, Jr., the NFA provincial manager, said Monday that there is an increase of around 700 farmers, attributing it to the decrease of farm gate prices being offered by private traders as an effect of the rice tariffication law.
