A city councilor has proposed the conduct of a study for the possible establishment of a zoo and a botanical garden at Sitio Makiwara, Barangay Tagabenit.

Puerto Princesa councilor Elgin Damasco made the suggestion after visiting Jeju Island, South Korea with Mayor Lucilo Bayron and other city government officials.

He said the area in Tagabenit is a good site and is only around four to five kilometers away from the highway.

Damasco also said that the residents are willing to donate their land for the purpose of the zoo and botanical garden development.

He also added that the city government should invest in the improvement of the destinations and not only focus on the underground river and Honda bay.
