Students who are flying from Romblon Airport are now exempted from paying airport terminal fees according to Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) – Romblon Manager Nonie Lucidos.
The policy started last August 1, following a memorandum order signed by CAAP Director-General Jim Sydiongco waiving terminal fees for preschool to college students, including vocational schools and training center students.
Lucidos said that qualified students who want to avail the exemption shall apply for Student Exemption Certificate at Malasakit Help Desks located at the airport’s terminal building.
A photocopy of student’s Identification Card or school registration card may also be required to be presented to the airport’s staff.
“Kapag na-aprbuhan na siya na pwedeng mag-avail ng exemption, pwede na niyang marefund ang P100 na terminal fee sa ating Malasakit Help Desk,” Lucidos told Philippine Information Agency – Romblon in Tagalog.
Since the implementation until August 14, only one student currently availed the exemption.
