Two teams from Sta. Lourdes National High School took the top spots in the Mayor’s Cup Sepak Takraw Tournament held in Puerto Princesa City on August 15 and 16.
Sta. Lourdes National High School Team A emerged as champion, while Team B from the same school finished second.
Palawan National School Green Hawks and Mangingisda National High School Team A shared third place.
The two-day tournament drew 13 teams to the Sepak Takraw Gym at the Ramon V. Mitra Jr. Sports Complex in Balayong People’s Park. It marked the return of the Mayor’s Cup sepak takraw competition after it was last held in 2022.
The participating teams included players from Manuel Austria Memorial Elementary School, Mangingisda National High School and Palawan National School.
The city government said the tournament was organized to give young players more competitive experience and prepare them for provincial, national and international events.
The City Sports Office and the City Mayor’s Office organized the competition, with City Sports Office’s Leonardo Pereyra serving as tournament manager.
