The state weather bureau on Monday reported improved weather conditions nationwide after Tropical Cyclone Sinlaku exited the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR), with no low pressure areas or potential cyclones currently being monitored.
In an advisory, PAGASA said the system is no longer expected to affect the country’s weather, signaling generally fair conditions in the coming days.
“Sa kasalukuyan, maliwanag ang panahon na nararanasan natin sa buong bansa. Ang bagyong Sinlaku ay tuluyan nang lumabas sa ating domain at hindi na ito inaasahang makaapekto sa lagay ng panahon,” PAGASA weather specialist Aldczar Aurelio said.
Despite the cyclone’s exit, PAGASA cautioned that hot and humid conditions will persist, with temperatures expected to peak in the afternoon across many areas.
Forecast highs include 36°C in Tuguegarao, 35°C in Zamboanga, and 34°C in Metro Manila, while Davao City and Kalayaan Island are expected to reach around 33°C.
In Puerto Princesa City, partly cloudy to partly sunny conditions are expected, with temperatures ranging from 23°C in the morning to a high of 31°C later in the day.
Authorities also warned of elevated heat index levels, with Sangley Point in Cavite projected to reach 42°C to 44°C, and Metro Manila ranging from 38°C to 39°C, raising risks of heat-related illnesses.
PAGASA advised the public to limit prolonged exposure to the sun, stay hydrated, and take necessary precautions during peak afternoon hours.
While no gale warnings are currently in effect and sea conditions remain generally safe for small vessels, PAGASA reminded fisherfolk and mariners to remain alert for possible localized thunderstorms that may develop in the afternoon or evening.
