Two residents of Roxas were injured in a motorcycle accident in Sitio Tupit, Barangay Bantulan, Taytay, around 10:30 a.m. on December 5.
The incident involved a collision between a motorcycle and a municipal truck.
The motorcycle driver, identified as Vandam Gadiali Timbol, sustained leg injuries, while his passenger, his 21-year-old wife, Erica Daumani Timbol, was thrown onto the road upon impact. Both are residents of Barangay 1, Roxas.
The truck driver, Teodel Tanderia Brillo, 36, an employee of the Municipal Engineering Office of Taytay and a resident of Barangay Abongan, was unharmed.
Eyewitnesses reported that the motorcycle, which was heading back to Taytay Poblacion from Sitio Maybolo, lost control while negotiating a sharp uphill curve.
The vehicle overshot its lane, striking the gas tank of the oncoming truck before becoming wedged under its left wheel.
The couple suffered injuries and were rushed to the Northern Palawan Provincial Hospital by personnel from the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO). Their condition was reported as stable.
The truck, owned by the municipality of Taytay, is now under the custody of authorities. Meanwhile, the motorcycle, a RUSI model, was found to lack the necessary registration documents, prompting further investigation.
