Cooking is among the things most mothers do best. They spend hours just to perfect their sinigang or any of their loved ones’ favorite lutong bahay.
In celebration of the Seniors Day at the Mall, SM City Puerto Princesa hosted a culinary showdown among senior citizens of Puerto Princesa City on June 24, 2019.
The celebration started with a demo for a non-baked red cherry cheesecake that only required common kitchen cookware and utensils. It was followed by a lecture on tips for improving common viands.
A competition of homemade food highlighted the Seniors Day at the Mall, wherein the entry of senior citizens of Bgy. Maningning won 1st place and P5,000.00-worth of SM shopping money. Their specialty is Dinengdeng, an original recipe from Ilocos.
The Seniors Day at the Mall is a bi-monthly activity in SM City Puerto Princesa in partnership with the Office of the Senior Citizens Affairs of Puerto Princesa City.
SM Cares, a division of SM Foundation Inc., under the Senior Citizen Program headed by Committee Chairman Danny Chavez, spearheaded the event in cooperation with the local committee at SM City Puerto Princesa.
