Local farmers in San Vicente are set to benefit from enhanced livelihood and modernization programs as 32 organized farmers associations gear up for upcoming projects, following a first-quarter meeting held in early March.
The meeting brought together active leaders from 10 barangays and was led by Municipal Agriculturist Engr. Reniel Rocaberte, who stressed the importance of proper registration and accreditation to ensure that each association has a clear identity and is ready to participate in future livelihood initiatives.
“Each organization is being prepared for enterprising activities and livelihood programs that can be implemented in the future,” the Office of the Municipal Agriculturist said in a statement.
Engr. Aldorace Jane Avira of the Office of the Municipal Agricultural and Biosystems Engineer (OMABE) discussed support for key programs, including the Swine Hub, Rice Processing System, and Cacao Development Program, alongside efforts to improve agricultural mechanization and farm infrastructure.
Representatives from the Rice Program of the DA-Regional Field Office MIMAROPA and Provincial Agriculture Coordinator Salome Bacomo provided technical guidance, detailing national and provincial support available to farmers.
LEADS Agricultural Products Corp. also presented products to be distributed under the National Rice Program, reinforcing the link between government programs and local beneficiaries.
The meeting highlights San Vicente’s ongoing efforts to strengthen coordination between the local government and farmers’ associations, ensuring that development programs—from livestock initiatives to farm machinery support—are effectively implemented for the community.
