Farmers and fisherfolk in San Vicente will receive free financial and business training following a partnership between the local government and the Philippine Institute of Certified Public Accountants (PICPA)–Palawan Chapter formalized on April 21.
The agreement establishes the rollout of the Free Accounting, Taxation, and Business Advisory Services (FATBAS) Program, aimed at strengthening financial literacy and management among local agricultural and fisheries groups.
Under the program, beneficiaries will undergo orientations and advisory sessions on accounting, bookkeeping, and financial management, as well as guidance on tax compliance, including registration, filing, and reporting requirements.
The initiative also includes basic business advisory support to improve transparency and financial stability of community organizations, alongside financial literacy trainings aligned with the local government’s livelihood programs.
Mayor Ramir R. Pablico led the signing ceremony with PICPA Palawan President Annabelle P. Ong and other representatives from partner organizations and local associations.
Officials said the program is expected to enhance the capacity of farmers and fisherfolk in managing their finances and engaging in business transactions, contributing to more organized and sustainable livelihoods in the municipality.
