RTNMC donates ₱600k for Bataraza’s 8th Pinya Festival

Rio Tuba Nickel Mining Corporation (RTNMC) has turned over ₱600,000 in financial support to the Municipal Government of Bataraza as one of the major sponsors of the municipality’s 8th Pinya Festival 2026.

The sponsorship was formally received by the local government headed by Mayor Al-Shariff W. Ibba as part of preparations for this year’s festival, which carries the theme “Pinya at Pamana: Pagtatanim ng Kultura’t Kabuhayan (Agrikulturang Makabago, Ekonomiyang Matatag).”

In a statement, RTNMC said the partnership reflects its continued commitment to supporting programs that promote culture, tourism, and local economic development in Bataraza.

The company described its participation in the annual festival as an opportunity to contribute to an event that showcases the municipality’s rich culture, traditions, livelihood, and identity.

“As part of our commitment to responsible mining, we continue to support programs that strengthen unity, promote tourism, create livelihood opportunities, and contribute to the development of the municipality,” the company said.

RTNMC added that responsible stewardship of natural resources goes hand in hand with community development, noting that investments in local initiatives help strengthen the economy and create opportunities for future generations.

The company also expressed its appreciation to the Municipal Government of Bataraza for accepting its support for this year’s celebration.

The annual Pinya Festival is one of Bataraza’s major cultural events, highlighting the municipality’s pineapple industry while promoting local products, heritage, and tourism through various cultural presentations and community activities.
