Jorvie V. Amistoso (Grade 11), Franz N. Jimenez (Grade 10), and Princess Audrex L. Magdayao (Grade 9) of the Roxas National Comprehensive High School secured a gold medal at the 2024 International Exhibition for Young Inventors (IEYI) held at the National Taiwan Normal University in Taipei, Taiwan, on August 4-5, 2024.
They won their gold medal through their invention titled “Cooling System for Swine Farm,” according to a post by the Department of Education (DepEd)-Roxas National Comprehensive High School, northern Palawan.
The DepEd-Roxas National Comprehensive High School said that although Althea Stephanie Morales (Grade 12), Mc Denver S. Rodriguez (Grade 10), and Meg Chloe O. Gilongos did not win a medal, they skillfully presented their invention, “Smart Stick for the Visually Impaired.”
Their mentors in achieving this success were Honnelley E. Balo and Asael Y. Palermo.
“Ang paligsahan ay nilahukan ng iba’t ibang paaralan mula sa iba’t ibang bansa. Sa Pilipinas, isa ang RNCHS sa dalawang paaralan na kumatawan sa ating bansa,” the DepEd-Roxas National Comprehensive High School added.
The 2024 IEYI provides an opportunity for youth around the world to come together and showcase their inventions and scientific thinking. It was initiated in Japan, and each year a different country hosts the event.
