The municipal government of Roxas is set to host the annual “Padyak at Alay Tanim para kay Balintong” on February 21, in celebration of the 6th Municipal Pangolin Day.
Participants will gather at 4:00 a.m. at the New Municipal Building Ground for assembly and registration.
The event, which is free of charge, combines cycling and tree planting to raise awareness and support for the Palawan Pangolin (Balintong), the municipality’s flagship species. The first 100 registrants will receive free dri-fit shirts. Registration forms are available at the Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Office (MENRO) or can be downloaded online.
The activity is a joint effort of the Roxas LGU under Mayor Pedy Bautista Sabando, MENRO, Katala Foundation, Inc., Palawan Council for Sustainable Development Staff (PCSDS), Roxas ECAN Board, Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), and the event’s working committee.
The LGU encourages the public to participate, take action for wildlife conservation, and support environmental sustainability in the municipality.
