Police arrested on September 12 the fifth most wanted person in Roxas town in Palawan, in a joint operation in Carles, Iloilo.
Authorities identified the suspect as alias Lorenzo, 38, a laborer and resident of Carles. He was wanted for rape under a warrant issued by Branch 164 of the Regional Trial Court in Roxas, Palawan, on December 23, 2023. No bail was recommended.
The arrest was carried out by Carles police with the coordination of the Palawan Police Provincial Office under Police Regional Office Mimaropa (PRO 4B).
Police Brig. Gen. Josefino Ligan, regional director of PRO 6 in Western Visayas, commended the inter-regional effort.
“The arrest of alias ‘Lorenzo’ shows that criminals cannot escape justice, no matter where they try to hide,” he said.
The suspect is now in the custody of Carles police for proper disposition.
