The delegation of Rizal town struggles with budget four days before the Provincial Meet 2019.

Rizal sports coordinator Bong Majestad on Wednesday said that their transportation budget was stalled because of “transition problem” that resulted to the public outrage when the viral photos of the young athletes surfaced online a few days ago.

Majestad further explained that only the budget for food amounting to P800 thousand and for uniform that costs P300 thousand were fixed during their preparation for the provincial-wide sports event.

“Ginawan na lang namin yun ng paraan kaya sa truck na lang kami sumakay,” he said.

Meanwhile, Bataraza municipal government, this year’s host, confirmed that they will extend help to their neighbor municipality.

The Rizal delegation has a total of 298 young athletes and coaches competing for the Provincial Meet 2019 that will be held in Bataraza Sports Complex on November 10 to 15.
