Around 5,000 vegetable seedlings were distributed to boatmen of the Sabang Sea Ferry Cooperation (SSFC) in Sitio Sabang, Barangay Cabayugan on Monday, to encourage local food production.

Kabarangay information office Agnes Acosta-Magdaug said that the project was initiated by the Office of the 3rd District in partnership with Yamang Bukid Farm-Palawan that provided the seedlings.

Seedlings distributed include tomato, pole bean, lettuce, cucumber, okra, string beans, squash, arugula and pechay.

She said that they recognize the boatmen as one of the affected sectors during the COVID-19 pandemic.
