The office of Rep. Gil Acosta Jr. (3rd District, Palawan) has distributed personal protective equipment (PPE) supplies to frontliners in the city.

Agnes Acosta, information officer of Rep. Gil’s office, said they distributed the PPE supplies on March 25, 2020, in three major hospitals in Puerto Princesa. Alcohol and surgical masks were also distributed to the Aborlan Medicare Hospital in Aborlan town.

Handed to the frontliners were washable, disposable, and N95 face masks, alcohol, and goods.

“Nagkusa na po kami na sa ONP (Ospital ng Palawan) ibigay ang 2 sets ng PPE, 20 pieces na N95 masks, at 5 boxes ng surgical masks knowing na sa kanila rin babagsak ‘yong (karamihan) na PUI (persons under investigation) natin. Our office is continuously giving support sa mga checkpoints and other frontliners natin, even sa Adventist and Coop hospitals ay nakapag-extend rin kami ng maliit na help,” Acosta told Palawan News in a text message.

Rep. Acosta is on a self-imposed 14-day quarantine, after attending committee meetings in the House of Representatives.

She said some personnel and staff of the committees Rep. Acosta attended have tested positive for COVID-19.

“As much as Cong. Gil wanted to be here, nag home quarantine muna sya kasi most of the committee meetings that he attended before the adjournment ay may mga nag-positive [na kasamahan niya]. Right now, okay naman po sila ng pamilya niya sa Maynila,” she said.

Rep. Acosta’s office also distributed food to the frontliners manning the different quarantine controlled points in the city.
