A man facing a rape charge in a Manila court was nabbed in Coron on Friday by a joint team of the local police and an intelligence unit from the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO).
Authorities identified the suspect as Jasper Delos Angeles, 30 a resident of Sitio Dipulao, Barangay Poblacion 6, Coron.
P/Maj. Thirz Starky Timbancaya, chief of the Coron police, said they coordinated with the Manila Police District (MPD) and the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) intelligence unit led by P/Maj. Rosalino Ibay Jr. to find and arrest the suspect.
De los Angeles was the subject of an arrest warrant issued by Judge Daniel Villanueva of the Manila Regional Trial Court Branch 49.
The suspect allegedly drugged a female student and raped her in 2015.
Timbancaya said the suspect was flown to Manila following his arrest.
