A jewelry store at the public market in Barangay Alfonso XIII, Quezon, Palawan, was robbed on Tuesday morning, April 8, by an unidentified woman who fled with an estimated ₱1,000,000 worth of jewelry.
The Palawan Police Provincial Office (PalPPO) said the incident occurred around 8:50 a.m. The victims were identified as alias Nora, a 64-year-old widow and businesswoman who owns the jewelry store, and alias Marian, a 53-year-old saleslady. Both are residents of Barangay Alfonso XIII, Quezon.
Initial investigation revealed that alias Marian was alone at the store when the suspect, described as a large-built woman around 40 years old, with fair complexion, blond hair, and approximately 5’2″ to 5’3″ in height, suddenly entered.
The suspect was wearing a white long-sleeved shirt, black pants, a round hat, and was carrying a red eco bag.
The police said the suspect immediately drew a knife and pointed it at the waist of alias Marian, demanding the jewelry cases. Fearing for her life, the victim complied as the suspect placed the jewelry boxes into the red eco bag.
The suspect then calmly walked out of the store with the stolen items, escaping with an estimated ₱1,000,000 worth of jewelry.
“Hot pursuit operation and follow-up investigation is still being conducted by the personnel of Quezon MPS,” PalPPO stated in the press release shared through Police Major Ric Ramos.
Personnel from the Quezon Municipal Police Station continue to track down the suspect and recover the stolen items.
