The Palawan News management and editorial board wish to thank the artists, sponsors, and its subscribers for the successful production of “QuaranTINIG: Mga Musikerong Palaweño sa Gitna ng Quarantine”.

QuaranTINIG was an unprecedented musical event that showcased Palaweño musical talents. We conceived the project at the onset of the enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) in the entire Luzon to help local performers displaced from their livelihood by the total lockdown. QuaranTINIG provided them a platform to perform a gig that we streamed nightly to our audience throughout the enhanced community quarantine period.

QuaranTINIG featured a total of 48 musical artists in 29 streaming performances that began on March 30 ending on May 1, 2020.

The QuaranTINIG performers were as follows: Mikay, Clint Pontillas, Trannel Caseria, Out of Nowhere, John Varney, Anyhow Band, Prinsesa, High Hello, Jinx Golifardo, Xylein Herrera, Sound Section Duo, Hajime Tarre, Himaya & Bahandi, Hadzman Razul, Raymund Palay, Dave and Vincent Atencio, Simon, Scheck Band, Mara, Lagundi Band, Bugs and Roots, Music 7, Soy Lanzanas, Flipside Band, Unplugged Kast, Rey Abrea, Hicee & Mario, BlueBallz Band, and Dempto Anda.

The response from our sponsors was overwhelming and inspiring, given the short period it took to organize the event. PN received a total of P88,000 in donations for the talent fees of all the musicians who participated in the event.

We are grateful to the following donors who contributed to the success of QuaranTINIG: Palawenyo Savers, Moreta Shipping Lines, Rep. Franz “Chickoy” Alvarez, 7-Digits Construction and Supply, Councilor Patrick Hagedorn, William Tan Enterprises, Marcial Bolen and several others who wish to remain anonymous.

We are also grateful to some of the performers who opted to waive their talent fees, allowing us to engage more artists to be featured in the program.

We are inspired by the tremendous success of QuaranTINIG and we wish we can have another opportunity to mount a similar and perhaps bigger undertaking in the future, in support of the Palawan artist.
