Quake aid drive touched by father’s ₱19 donation

Poverty is not a barrier to helping others. This was proven by a father from Cebu City who gave ₱19 as a donation for earthquake victims.

In a Facebook post, Jennivieve Abelgas Carminero shared the touching encounter when the man came personally to hand over his small contribution. She said they normally do not accept cash donations because the process is only through bank transfer, but they could not refuse after seeing his sincere intention to help.

“Father came by, brought a sack, his clothes are still getting swollen. Bag terno. —Php 19 pesos with heart. We should not accept cash because it is through bank transfer only. But we are not in trouble with Father, our hearts are covered,” Carminero wrote.

The man also promised to return to bring t-shirts that could be given to those in need.

Many netizens said the story showed that the value of donations is not measured by the amount, but by the willingness to give. Big or small, acts of kindness have a strong impact, especially in times of disaster.
