Puerto Princesa traffic enforcers barred from taking funeral tips

Starting July 28, traffic enforcers in Puerto Princesa City are no longer allowed to accept money when assisting or escorting funeral processions.

This was announced by Acting City Information Officer and City Traffic Management Office (CTMO) Head Richard Ligad after speaking with two traffic enforcers at his office.

Ligad said the CTMO has no funds or “budget” for fuel to carry out such duties, and urged those requesting funeral escorts to provide a “gas slip” or fuel instead of cash.

He explained that this is meant to prevent any controversy.

While Ligad did not go into further detail, it can be recalled that he had posted on his Facebook account the day before, hinting at complaints involving some traffic enforcers and warning them to prepare a good explanation.
